☕ Tuesday Tea & Thoughts

The Chair That Stayed Empty

Some mornings don’t begin with rushing.

They begin with noticing.

This morning, there was an empty chair across the table.

Not because someone had left, but because no one had sat there in days. It held nothing more than the morning light spilling through the window, a folded throw draped over the back, and the quiet that only comes after a busy season.

Funny how we often rush to fill empty spaces.

We fill our calendars before they have a chance to breathe.

We answer messages before we’ve answered our own hearts.

We play music because silence feels unfamiliar.

We keep moving because stillness sometimes asks questions we’ve been avoiding.

But what if not every empty space is meant to be filled?

What if some are invitations?

An empty chair can become a place to pray.

An unplanned hour can become the beginning of a new dream.

A quiet morning can become the moment you finally hear what your heart has been trying to say all along.

God has a beautiful way of speaking without competing for our attention.

He often waits in the spaces we hurry past.

Perhaps today, instead of reaching for your phone the moment you find a quiet minute, sit in it.

Watch the light move across the room.

Take a slow sip of your tea.

Breathe deeply.

You may discover that what felt like emptiness is actually room for something sacred to grow.

Today’s Thought

“Not every empty space is a sign of something missing. Sometimes it’s where peace quietly chooses to sit.”
