When trying to conceive, there has been myths, tips and tricks that are not generally backed up by research. Sex positions has not been proven to enhance pregnancy faster but there are moves that can help and it doesn’t hurt to practice them.
There’s no magic to get the sperm and egg together but there are a few positions before, during and after sex that makes it easier or even a more successful attempt at getting pregnant.
Spooning.
Cuddling and snuggling in a spooning position can lend itself to a successful baby making. It is advisable for men to warm up through foreplay so as to fuel the arousal and increase the sperm level. Ignoring foreplay and ejaculating too quickly will deprive them of their best shot.
Missionary style.
This is a standard position that has been considered one of the best for conception because while lying on your back, the vagina is tilted downward towards the cervix which makes it easier for the sperm to get through.
Placing a pillow under your cervix during intercourse in the missionary position may increase the upward till of the vaginal potentially increasing the reception of the sperm.
Laying on your back.
Women are advised to lay on the back for about 5-15mins after intercourse for the sperm to gain access to the cervix.
Doggy style.
According to some theories, this position allows for deep penetration and it is the best position to use when trying to conceive if you have a tipped(retroverted) cervix. The position enhances the sperm to get even closer to the egg.
Wheelbarrow style.
This is admittedly among the most adventurous sex position to conceive a baby because it allows deep penetration of the sperm to the egg.
Reverse cowgirl style.
Most women don’t know whether they have a tipped uterus or not so it is therefore advisable to try out this position. It has been observed that 1 out of 5 women have a tipped(retroverted) uterus and if you are among them then this might be the best sex position to get pregnant.
